All leaders use mantra’s, and many don’t even know they are doing it. I like to look at these three great leaders. Here are a few mantras that they have used, and you can use also:

Winston Churchill
Winston Churchill quotes
A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.
All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.
Broadly speaking, the short words are the best, and the old words best of all.
Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential.
Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities… because it is the quality which guarantees all others.
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.
Difficulties mastered are opportunities won.
History is written by the victors.
I am an optimist. It does not seem too much use being anything else.

Vince Lombardi
Vince Lombardi quotes
Confidence is contagious. So is lack of confidence.
Dictionary is the only place that success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success. I think you can accomplish anything if you’re willing to pay the price.
If you are not fired with enthusiasm, you will be fired with enthusiasm.
Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work
It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.
Leaders aren’t born they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that’s the price we’ll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal.
Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.
Success demands singleness of purpose.

John Wooden
John Wooden quotes
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.
Be prepared and be honest.
Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.
Failure is not fatal, but failure to change might be.
If you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?
If you’re not making mistakes, then you’re not doing anything. I’m positive that a doer makes mistakes.
It isn’t what you do, but how you do it.
So take these words, I hope you can use them in your life.

No matter who we are we can all use a little boost in self-confidence from time to time. How about using mantras to do this. They are extremely powerful for this and are used for this purpose by many of the most successful people that you will meet.
This of course is the reason that we use mantras. All mantras come down to boosting your self-confidence. As I stated before mantras are meant for you, they are usually written by you, and the really only apply to you. Therefore mantras become a way of you boosting yourself. Lets get right to it.
Need a boost try these:
I am getting better and better every day in every way
My confidence around other people helps me to be a better person, and change peoples lives.
There are always more examples that we can give for self-confidence, but my advice to you is this. Find a specific reason that you feel a little self-doubt. Maybe it is speaking with your boss. Simple create a mantra that will give you strength the next time you must approach him to ask for something. Maybe something like this:
I am a great employee and because of this my boss wants my opinions. I am happy to freely talk to him about how I feel.
Perhaps you have a fear of speaking in front of large crowds. Try this one:
I am a great speaker and people are eager to hear what I have to say. I love to be in front of people and watch them unite with what I have to say.
Maybe you have a lack of confidence in starting something new. This of course is very reasonable but try this:
I am learning and getting better everyday. I bring fresh ideas that have not been used before. I am successful because of my fresh thinking.
A little worried about being too boastful with your new confidence? Try this one out:
I am confident and humble. I never waiver with my confidence, and I am always willing to help others with their own confidence.
Keep going. Before you know it you will be the most confident and successful person that you have ever met.

Use a Mantra to get all that you want
So you really want something. You desire it, but you do not know how to get it. Can you use a mantra to help you? Yes!
You cannot use a mantra to simply manifest something out of nothing. It just does not work that way. You need to use the mantra to help you get it. For example:
I have a BMW
That simply does not work. There is nothing that that has to do with you. Mantras again are for you, about you, and to help you. Now instead you can say:
I have the ability to find ways to get a BMW.
That is fine. The more you use the mantra the more ways you will find to generate more money, to save more money, to find opportunities that will deliver that BMW.
But I personally still do not like it. I would prefer you use something like this to get what you want:
I have everything I need, want, and desire. Things come to me because I am a good problem solver. I have opportunities that fall upon me bringing me more than I desire.
It seems more general, but it works better due to the fact that you don’t always know exactly what you want. What? You don’t know what you don’t know. Maybe it is a BMW that you desire. Then fine make it a mantra to get a BMW. But sometimes we ask for something that we don’t really want. What does a BMW represent? Success? Money? Wealth? Status? Or just a car?
I would say that if you do not have a BMW and there is not way in your life that you can afford one you are not really desiring that car you desire a change. A change in wealth, a change in status, a change in success. Maybe that is what you should be asking for. Once you have success, wealth, and money, then the BMW will simply be an after thought. Try this mantra out:
I am successful. I am wealthy. I have everything that I could ever want right now.
It may just change your perspective and your life.

Doing Tough Tasks can be easy with a Mantra
We all have tasks that we don’t want to do, or we don’t look forward to doing. But we also know that when we get these tasks done we are better off for it.
These tasks might be doing the laundry, washing the dishes, or cleaning the bathroom. They may be work related such as data entry, completing expense reports, or writing blog posts. They may be health related such as working out, eating your vegetables, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
All of these tasks people dread from time to time but they all have a payoff in the end. We all like to have nice clean things. We all have things to do at work that will help us get paid or lead to greater success. We all would like to be healthier and look better. Whatever your task is there is a mantra that will work for you.
My suggestion is this: don’t use a different mantra for each task you dread, instead use one general mantra that will work for any task that you may not like. Here is an example of a mantra to help you get through tasks that you may not like:
I welcome new challenges and hard work. I know that my diligence will help me become more successful and prosperous. I enjoy all tasks as they lead to more success.
Find a mantra that works for you and your dreaded tasks will soon fly by.

Mantras can help you solve difficult problems
The simple answer to the title is…All the time. But where, how, and when to use them is a different subject.
Mantra’s should be used all the time and anytime. But as stated before Mantra’s are yours, for you. So your mantras should be used as so. They are private, but should not be hidden. For example: There is a great story of a man who used his mantra while fixing a seemingly unsolvable problem. Many people had tried to fix a car engine. No one was able determine the problem so no one was able to fix it. Knowing the power of mantras a young mechanic took out his mantra from his pocket and began to read it to himself.
I am a great problem solver. With my ability to solve problems I am able to fix them. I use my abilities to help others with their problems.
While reading this a senior mechanic, who could not fix the engine, asked him what he was doing.
Going over my plan, said the junior mechanic. Two hours later the engine was running, the problem was solved, and the car was being put back together again.
You see the junior mechanic was using his mantra for himself, to help himself solve the problem. He was not trying to hide it, but it was his to use. It was not the senior mechanics mantra, it was his, and it worked for him. The senior mechanic later asked to see that plan, and so the junior mechanic did. The senior mechanic did not understand. He did not understand because it was not his. It is private, but not hidden.
So back to the original question, when should you use your mantra? I like to have several of them. I use my main mantra in the morning and before I go to bed. It helps me to wake up to good thoughts, and it puts good thoughts into my head as I go to sleep.
I also like to keep a few with me in my pockets. I either laminate them, or use clear packaging tape on the front and back to protect them. Whenever I am a little down, or I have a problem I pull them out and read them to myself. If I am in a private area, or I am with people who understand I read them aloud. They are a good boost, they are great for getting yourself in the right mindset, and for some reason they bring to you exactly what you ask of them.
Put mantra’s on sticky notes around your house, tape them to your mirrors, write them on your phone or PDA. Put them on your computer, or put them on the steering wheel on your car. Have fun with them and use them often and all over the place.
The reason that I suggest that you use caution around people that don’t understand the use of mantras is that it is easy for them to convince you that they don’t work. Especially when you are just starting to use of mantras. Doubters can cause doubt in you, and that in turn will cause your mantras to not be as effective as they could be.
So lets review. Use mantras when you wake up and go to bed. Carry mantras with you for when you are in need of a boost. Use mantras in private but there is no need to hide them. Post them where you will see them often, keep them everywhere for easy access and reminders.
Next up some examples of how to use mantras with everyday problems.
