Success from the East.

Find your Success Action

Find your Success Action

Working hard does not necessarily guarantee success, but quitting guarantees failure.  -Mao Tse Tung

Success in anything is not done by simply working hard.  As a matter of fact success is not dependant on time.  Success is dependant on doing the right thing.  To guarantee success you must find the thing that makes you successful and concentrate on that.

So how do you know if you are doing the right thing?  Look at your progress.  If you work for a long period of time and you do not see any improvement, you do not see any progress, or you do not see any change in moving toward your goal, you are not doing the right thing.

Once you find the task or the activity that makes progress concentrate on that.  Concentrate on the things that move you forward.  Once you find this, and it may take you a while, focus most of your time on this activity.

There was a friend of mine who worked tirelessly for two years to find something that would give him a steady income.  He would sit at his computer for days and days with little or no results.  He joined several home based businesses but none gave him what he wanted, nor did it fit his lifestyle.

One day he finally discovered that helping others build their businesses online was not only fulfilling to himself it helped others.  He began helping them create websites, he taught them how to use the sites, how to update them simply by themselves, and soon he was able to create an income out of this.  It sort of happened by mistake, but through his perseverance.

Now he gets to spend the same amount of time in front of his computer, but most of that time is spent surfing and finding the latest technology.  That part he just likes to do.  His income comes from teaching others how to use it properly to expand their business.

Be patient, you will find what it is that causes your success.  Once you find that stick with it, do not fight it, that will be your success.

Prosperity Lessons from Batman

Batman and his Burden

Now that most of us have seen Batman the Dark Knight what prosperity lessons can we learn?

We know Batman as the rich billionaire businessman who has to shoulder the love hate of a city over run by crime.  As a businessman he is loved by many, envied by most, and a classy guy.  As a superhero he is hated by crime, misunderstood by the public, and mistrusted by the police.  But, there is no doubt that he can be viewed as prosperous.

The Lessons:

Fight for What You Believe In

Fight For What You Believe In

Batman believes in justice and doing the right thing.  We have to assume that he runs his business the same way.  He is often put down for what he believes in but does not listen to those negative people.  Fight for what you believe in and your prosperity will come soon.

Don't Listen to Others

Don’t Listen to what Others Say

One sure way to not reach your goals is to listen to others.  Every movie Batman and Bruce Wayne are told that they are doing something wrong, they are told to stop, and they are chastised for what they believe.  Batman does not listen and does what he knows is right.  If you know you are on the right path keep going despice others rremarks about what you are doing.

Inspire People

Inspire People

Batman’s goal is to inspire people to peace.  Strive to inspire people in your work and you will be more successful and prosperous.

Believe in People

Believe in People

Believe in the capabilities of others.  Believe in what others can do for you.  Believe that there is good in everyone.  Then conspire to bring that out.  Show someone the light and they will come to it.

Don't be a Hero be Yourself

Don’t be the Hero, Be Yourself

Batman did not want to be a hero.  He was OK with having the burdens of Gotham on his back.  He wanted to help, and he knew that this was how he could do it.  Don’t try to do everything.  Be yourself, and do what you know you are capable of doing.

We all have our Burdens

We All Have Our Own Burdens

In this list we have seen how Batman has things that he has to deal with.  He has the loss of his parents, the loss of his love, and the loss of the city.  Yet he continues on and continues to do what he has set out to do.  Don’t let your burdens make excuses for you.

Prosperity is Mathematical

Prosperity is a Mathematical and Scientific Formula

For Batman it is simple, he continues to improve his technology to stay one step ahead of the competition.  He has superiour martial arts skills along with technology to help him beat the bad guys.  His success in business is repeatable and as easy as using a formula.  Find your formula, your process and plug into it over and over.

Good luck with your prosperity journey.  There is inspiration everywhere if you want to look.

Professor Prosperity Academy: Do Something

Action always beats inAction.

Action beats In Action AlwaysWe have set ourselves up for success this month. We have our goals set, we have our Personal Mantras and Personal Aspirations. Now what to do we do with all this stuff? What leads us to success?

Action! The only way to become successful and prosperous is action. It must be consistent, sustained action in a direction that is toward one of our goals. But what to do? It really does not matter just do something (as Nike says Just Do It). You will make mistakes, and that is OK. You will find people who have done similar things, learn from them. Be flexible, you may be on the wrong path so don’t be afraid to switch.

Making mistakes is part of the learning process. Everyone will make them. Don’t dwell on them. Accept that mistakes will happen, correct them immediately, and move on. You are not a bad person for making them. Mistakes are always fixable and inevitable. Besides, now you just know what not to do. As Edison said about his light bulb.

I have not failed, I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.

Seek out people who have already done what you want to do. If you want to lose weight everyone knows where to go, the local gym. Seek out a trainer that you like and they can help you. If you want to learn a certain task you go to the local community college. They usually offer classes on things you want to learn like how to play the guitar. But what do you do if you are trying something unique, like us at Professor Prosperity? Seek out people who have done things that are similar. Many times they have already made the mistakes that are inevitable and they can help you avoid them. Afraid to ask? Don’t be, most successful people are willing to help if you ask. So just ask, there is nothing to lose. That is how we got hooked up with Bryan Clark at Site Flip U. We just asked and he has been a great help. Mentors and guides are invaluable in any success project. It is very important that you find someone to help you. Then in turn you can give back by helping others.

Be flexible and willing to change. This is maybe the most important step to action and many times the most overlooked. If you are trying something new you probably don’t know what to do. Most likely as you make your mistakes, and you find your mentors, you will also find that you are doing it wrong. You may be going in the complete opposite direction. That is OK Just do a 180 and start working some more. It may seem a little counter productive but it is not. It is a process of refining your goal. You may find a better idea or goal than your original one. Go with it! You may find that there are many opportunities along the way, be flexible to take advantage of them.

Have fun, make mistakes, met new people. You never know what is on the horizon for you.

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. ” — Thomas Edison

Professor Prosperity’s Academy: Act As If

Act as if and you will already have and become (Part II of Your Mindset)

Acting as if you already have something, or already are something, is a great way to get you and your body, and your mind on the way to whatever it is you want. It breaks down old thought processes and actions. When you act as if others will already perceive you as being where you want to be. Finally you will also begin to trick yourself into becoming what you want to be.

Lets look at a little example. Lets say that you want to lose some weight. No lets say that you want to be skinny (for some of you that means 100 lbs, others it means 150 lbs whatever it means to you just go with me here). First we begin to act as if we already are the weight that we want to be at. By doing this we don’t even need a diet or exercise plan yet. We simply already are that skinny person. So when you go into the refrigerator you have to ask yourself what would a skinny person do? You are that skinny person. Would a skinny person eat that half of leftover cheese cake? Probably not. So act like a skinny person and you become that skinny person.

Acting as if breaks down old thoughts and actions.

  • Use your feelings. If you feel negative about doing something this is your old actions and thoughts this is your old self coming through. If you feel good about how you are acting that is how you want to act. Do that more.
  • The breakdown of old thoughts is a way of reprogramming yourself to the new you. The actions will help you get your mind right, and keep it there.
  • This paves the way for what you really want. It is a process, it takes time so be patient.

Do and people will perceive you as already having done.

  • It may seem fake to you are first but keep acting how you want to be. This fake feeling is the old habits trying to break back through.
  • Body language makes up much of our communications. There are many examples of this to choose from, my favorite example is flirting. Ever look at a good looking woman across a restaurant and make her blush? Did you say anything? No. You said what you needed with your body language and she heard it as if you whispered in her ear.
  • As people perceive you as being successful and prosperous they will begin to offer you things without you asking. Ever hear of the saying the rich get richer? It is true. Act as if and you will be surprised at what you get.

Act As If and you will trick your self.

  • Believe in yourself as being a certain way and you will be that way. That is my favorite. You can actually trick yourself into thinking you are what you want.
  • Things will begin to feel easier and easier to you as you continue to act as if. As you act like a skinny person you will begin to buy healthy food, you will be more active, and you will find it easier and easier to lose more and more weight.
  • Life is Good! Be happy, feel good, and enjoy your new self. It takes a little work but acting as if will get your where you want.

Acting as if is a great way to lessen the burden on the mind and start your body into action. Action is what others perceive so act like you want to be. When people respond it will reinforce your actions and cause considerable happiness.

Taking Care of Business

Elvis and Taking Care of BusinessDid you know that Elvis wore a medallion with a lightning bolt and the letters TCB on it?  Do you know what it meant?  You guessed it Taking Care of Business.  Heck there was even a song about it by 60’s rock giant Bachman-Turner Overdrive. I’m not talking about “business” in a strictly financial sense, but “business” with the idea that whatever you’re shooting for success-wise, you complete your tasks.

Once you have a course plotted for success, there are going to be a million things that will vie for your attention and time.  It’s not that these things haven’t been there before now, and it’s not even that the world is plotting against you succeeding.  It’s just that now you have a focus and you’ll begin to notice things that seem like they shouldn’t be on your radar screen.

It doesn’t mean that you don’t do the little pesky things that are buzzing and want to be taken care of (especially if it relates to your job), just that you must not let those things pull you off-track.

So how do you stay on-task?  The best way I’ve found, bar none, is to keep a log of tasks that must be accomplished as you move towards your goal.  Remember to break the big tasks in to a series of small ones and to give yourself a reward-system as you do it.  I use check-marks; others use stickers (sounds silly, but if it works for you, who cares?), still others use tangible rewards as they accomplish “x” number of small or large tasks.

Whatever motivates you is your key-keep it simple and keep it attainable.  If the carrot is too far out in front of the horse, the horse will give up.  If it’s just close enough to smell and see but just out of reach, that horse will keep moving towards the incentive.

Let’s say your goal is to lose 60 pounds.  That’s quite a chunk of weight and can take a long time to accomplish.  Let’s also say that you need a new wardrobe.  Should you wait until all the weight is gone to buy those new clothes?  Probably not-your current closet full of clothes will look awfully loose and ill-fitting if you do.

But let’s talk about small, incremental rewards that help move you towards your goal.  If you lose 10 pounds, your current clothes won’t look baggy on you, but you will notice a difference in your waistband that might bother you.  Don’t chuck the pants or go buy a new pair-take the current ones to a seamstress or tailor to be taken in.

It’s a small reward and saves you the money of buying new pants that you will continue to shrink out of.  It also keeps you motivated.  For the next 5 or 10 pounds, think about some new cosmetics or a new hairstyle-small things that will make you feel better, inside and out.

Takin’ care of business and staying on task.  Now that’s the way to chart yourself to success!
